A Little Girl and her Jack Russell

I still miss my beloved Jack Russell, Bert who died last September. Sometimes I come across a Jack Russell photograph or postcard at an antiques market. This fantastic image of a small child perched on a cushion atop a garden wall with a flower and a Jack Russell was purchased recently. It cost less than £1 (approximately $1.60). Taken in the early 1900s, it is a lovely image. Having some previous experience as a picture editor, my eyes were drawn immediately to the fact the dog is, how can I put it politely, a 'little excited'. Normally, photographers of the time would blur the offending part of the photograph during printing!

  1. That's too funny.

What's even funnier to me is the fact that I would never have noticed it. Despite great success as a photojournalist because of what editors describe as "the way I see things," it never ceases to amaze me at some of the most important details, such as this one, that I never even think to look at, lol.

It's things like this that make great photo editors among the most important people in my life. ;)

  2. Ok - I laughed heartily at this. A charming photo apon first glance, with an amused 'oh dear' at your revelation. And on closer inspection, looking at his face he seems to be lost in furry fantasy!

  3. HA, I would not have noticed it in this photo until you pointed it out.
I have a Jack Russell named Sadie, she was born deaf and I adopted her along with six Dachshunds that are disabled. Sadie is called affectionately by us our Dachshund want to be because her legs are sooooooo tall compared to our Dachshunds, she cowards down on the floor when she plays with them Too funny to watch and oh so clever of her.

  8. Puppy porn oh no here we go.
Has anyone noticed the dog food commercial where he is chomping away on the food right out of the bag and all the while the main part of the shot shows his appendage swaying back and forth while eats heartily.
Well on some channels they have blurred it out, I presume after people complained.
Why don't they notice these things in production?
