Happy Tree

I am in Stratford-upon-Avon today - Shakespeare country. Coincidentally, I am related to the Shakespeare Family. In the 1800's there were two brothers. The first, William Shakespeare Manton moved with his family to America. The other, John Shakespeare Manton stayed in England and many years later I appeared! But I stray from the subject in hand. During a coffee break at the conference I am attending I noticed some trees outside. Here is the first which impressed me no end with its happy smiling face!

  1. Such joy! Makes me want to dance with it! And how exciting to find you're a Shakespeare! You're a delightful tale maker yourself. Do you see plays sometimes? Some of the more recent presentations give them new interpretations (same meaning).

  2. Hi Margaret, haven't heard from you for a few days - have you been on vacation? Being a Shakespeare can be a heavy responsibility, especially when you are nowhere near as good as writer as he was!

Re the tree, I can imagine it stepping out with two boughs for arms and another two for legs and dancing a happy jig. Oh Bliss!!!

  4. Hi Laurie,
Thanks for noticing and asking. I haven't felt well for a few days (root canal) but am now coming around. I noticed that you saw Sharon's lichen and her comment about your angel statuary with the yellow lichen--funny all the synchronicity among us bloggers. Did you see Shakespeare in Love? Such a window on his times.

  7. Hi Laurie. I think you may be a very distant cousin of my children. Do you have any information on John Shakespeare Manton's son Frederick? Was he the father of William Frederick Manton, who emigrated to New Zealand in the late 19th Century?
