A closer view of a rose that has not decayed. I wonder what makes it survive. I wonder, also, if that is an eye staring out of its centre? Do any of you have items that have preserved themself?
I too have some golden roses that were given to me when Mike died, and I just hung them by the ribbon that was on the vase, from a pretty hook (it's a cat and the hook is it's tail) from the back of the 1/2 bath off my living room (that's where I had to put all the flowers I got because the cats would eat them--it smelled like a florists shop in there). And I do see the eye in your rose...
I am glad you still have the golden roses,Teri. I took a single red carnation from a wreath at my Father's funeral in 1979 and laid it in a small cardboard box and put it in a drawer with the cards. Thirty years on, it is still preserved, as is another red carnation, I plucked from another wreath - following my Mother's funeral in 2001. I glad I kept them. Laurie
